Example of Lawyer Site Where Mobile Traffic is Soaring

MOBILE IS BIG AND GETTING BIGGER

Everyone basically now knows how big Mobile is. It makes sense because so many people are on smart phones these days. So it stands to reason that more people would use smart phones to search and visit web sites.

The main way to see exactly how many people are visiting your site via mobile devices like Iphones, Androids and blackberry phones, is to view your Google analytics. Google tells you not only how many people are visiting your site via mobile, but exactly which mobile devices they are using.

I’ve started to notice over the last 6 months that the mobile share of traffic was growing on most lawyer sites.  Yet it was only like 3-5% of traffic, yet now Im seeing 10, 15 and even 25% of total traffic coming from mobile. That is BIG!  That alone is reason to make sure your lawyer site has a mobile friendly version of it setup.  Otherwise people will visit the desktop version of your site and it will be hard to read and navigate and they probably will leave!

If you look at the graphic below, this is from Google analytics for a lawyer client and they have had over 5000 visitors to the site in July. 1,159 of them came via a mobile device! Thats over 22% and this number has been growing steadily.

IF YOUR SITE IS NOT MOBILE FRIENDLY, PEOPLE WON’T STAY LONG

The above graphic shows that people that did come to site on a mobile device didnt stay nearly as long as people on desktop versions.  This is because this lawyer doesnt have his site setup in a mobile format.  We are in the process of setting this up and it makes sense because once its setup, then these 1159 people will then see a easier to read version of site, where they can click to call the lawyer, email him and easily navigate around the mobile friendly version of site.
